Dumboor Lake

 Dumboor Lake: Dumboor Lake is a charming water body located in Amarpur Sub Division and 115 km away from Agartala. The look of the lake is like tabor shaped small drum, ‘Dumboor’ of Lord Shiva from which the name ‘Dumboor’ originates. The area of the lake is 41 sq.km and there are 48 islets inside the lake, surrounding hills and the islets are enchantingly emerald green and present a captivating scenic spectacle. Winter attracts hundreds of migratory birds of wild variety attributing the lake the status of a healthy wetland habitat much to the delight of ornithologists and tourists. There is a hydel project near the lake where the river Gomati originates and the area is called Tirthamukh where a big fair (Mela) is held every year on Pous Sankranti on 14 th  January.  Heritage Park: The Heritage Park is built by the Government of Tripura in the heart of the capital city. The Heritage Park by the Agartala GBP Hospital Road in Agartala next to the Raj Bhavan, is a grand establishment, inaugurated in the year 2012 by the Chief Minister of Tripura. The entrance of the park is a mind blowing piece of artistry that harmonically mixes the art and culture of both tribal and non tribal section of Tripura history to present a unique state of art structure. Jampui: Jampui Hills  is a part of the Mizo hills range located in the  North Tripura  district in the north eastern part of  Tripura . The average altitude of the hill range is approximately 1000 metres above sea level.It is 116km from Agartala.It  can be accessed by road from Dharmanagar and  Kailashahar  via Kanchanpur. Pilak

Pilak: Pilak site is located at Jolaibari, in South Tripura,which is 100km from Agartala.It   is an   archaeological   site in the   Santirbazar   sub-division of   South Tripura   district of   Tripura . Many images and structures, belonging to Buddhist and Hindu sects,   have been discovered here since 1927. The antiquities found here are dated from 8th to 12th centuries. Sandstone sculptures of the Pilak site, which represent a heterodox culture of   Hinduism   and   Buddhism   of 9th to 13th century, are on display at the   Tripura Government Museum  which is in Ujjayanta Palace. The Pilak archaeological site represents both Hinduism and Buddhism co-existing peacefully. Tripura Sundari Temple

  Tripura Sundari Temple: Tripura Sundari Temple is a Hindu temple of Goddess Tripura Sundari. It is about 55 km from Agartala,It is popularly known as  Matabari ,The temple is situated in the ancient city of Udaipur and can be reached by train and road from Agartala. It is believed to be one of the holiest Hindu shrines in this part of the country. The temple is considered to be one of the 51 Shakti Peethas; legend says that the little finger of the left leg of Sati fell here.There are two similar but different size d black stone idols of the Goddess in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. Debtamura: Devtamura  from  Agartala  is 75 km. It  is a hill range in  South Tripura  district of  Tripura , India. It is known  archaeological  site of rock sculptures, a panel of carved images of  Hindu  deities of  Durga ,  Ganesha  and  Kartikeya  on the bank of  Gomati River .  The stone images are estimated to have curved during the 15/16th century. Unakoti

  Unakoti lies 178 km to the northeast from  Agartala. It is the prime tourist spot of  Unakoti District, Tripura  in the  Kailashahar  Subdivision in the  North-eastern   Indian   state  of  Tripura .  It is Shiva pilgrimage and dates back to 7th – 9th centuries if not earlier. In those time the Pala dynasty ruled over the Bengal. Tripura region was a part of Greater Bengal under Samatat. Historians said (Nihar Ranjan Ray, Rakhaldas Bondopadhaya) the kingdom of Tripura was also a center of East Bengal and Samatat. The Tripura kingdom started to rule over the region in the 14-th century. Every year a big fair popularly known as  Ashokastami Mela  is held in the month of April. The festival is visited by thousands of pilgrims.

Ujjayanta Palace

 Ujjayanta Palace: The  Ujjayanta Palace    is a museum and the former palace of the Kingdom of  Tripura  situated in  Agartala , which is the capital of  Tripura . The palace was constructed by Maharaja  Radha Kishore Manikya   Debbarma  and stands on the banks of two lakes surrounded by gardens inspired by the  Mughal style  . It was the home of the ruling  Manikya dynasty . The palace was purchased from the royal family by the  Government of Tripura , and used to house the  State Legislative Assembly  until July 2011. Ujjayanta Palace is now a State Museum and it primarily showcases the lifestyle, arts, culture, tradition and utility crafts of communities residing in  northeast India , along with a lot of stone sculptures, coinage of the Manikya dynasty and some other artifacts.

Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary

 Sepahijala: Sepahijala is a wildlife Sanctuary in Tripura. It's almost 25km from the city centre of Agartala.  It has a artificial lake  ,a natural botanical  and zoological garden . It is famous for its  clouded leopard  enclosures. The sanctuary contains a variety of birds, primates, and other animals.  It gives shelter to about 150 species of birds and the unique bespectacled monkey. There is an accommodation at the forest where a   dak bunglou , called Abasarika, near the botanical garden, zoo and boating lake attracts the tourists to have a night adventure in the middle of the forest which is a great experience. The Zoo, which is about 3-4 km inside sanctuary, is open from 8 AM to 4 PM, Saturday to Thursday and one has to pay fee for self, camera and parking.
